Tom Rickard has actively worked in the film and television industry for over three decades. Tom’s background covers the entire spectrum of production values with credits ranging from situation comedies to major network live award programs. He has directed over 500 episodes of network, cable and syndicated programming. During his career, he has been involved in close to 1,000 various episodes of television programming as both director and/or associate director. He has utilized single and multiple camera formats, CGI compositing, multiple formats for both domestic and international, along with a well documented webcasting background.
Tom is a 35- year member of the Director’s Guild of America and has been honored twice with nominations for the DGA Award, the first for the 54th Annual Academy Awards and the second for the Disney Channel hit “That’s So Raven”. In both nominations he served as the primary Associate Director. He was awarded the Promax Gold Award for Best Use of a Website for his work as Producer/Director of the webcast of the 2000 MTVE European Music Awards. The webcast was entitled, “Live and Online” and ran for three hours on MTV.com. Tom also Produced and Directed the 2001 MTV European Music Awards webcast from Frankfurt, Germany. Tom’s family has been involved in ranching since the mid 1840’s and, along with his four brothers, owns the last parcel of the original Spanish Ranch in Cuyama, California. This property has been in his family since 1846 and has been actively ranched with a cattle operation since its inception. Tom has been happily married for the last twenty years and has a 17 year daughter who is an honor-roll student at Santa Ynez High School and is an active participant in California High School Rodeo, where she competes in breakaway roping, team-roping, and goat-tying.
